黑板樹在花季時總會散發出濃烈刺鼻的氣味，聞久了甚至會引發頭痛。儘管如此，因為它生長迅速，不知從哪個年代開始，台灣部分縣市竟在人行道上大量種植黑板樹。這情況可說是「前人種樹，後人乘涼」的反面教材，因為這些氣味反倒成了居民的困擾。甚至有人說，黑板樹的花香聞起來像是「小薇」。近年來，地方政府逐步將黑板樹汰除退場，實在是可喜可賀。為此，我寫了這首歌，獻給曾經陪伴過我們的黑板樹。謝謝你🤘🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿。
The Blackboard Tree is known for its pungent, headache-inducing scent during blooming season. Despite this, due to its rapid growth, it was once widely planted along sidewalks in various cities and counties across Taiwan. In hindsight, it became a counter-example of the saying, “One generation plants the tree, another enjoys the shade,” as the strong smell ended up troubling nearby residents. Some even say its floral scent reminds them of a certain "HSIAO-WEI." In recent years, local governments have begun gradually removing these trees — a welcome change. So I wrote this song to commemorate the Blackboard Tree that once stood by our side. Thank you.
