Alone in a sea of emptiness, I live on an island of grey.

One day I'll sail away from all of this, but that day feels so far away.

My island has different shades,

But most days it's a muted grey,

And while the island is beautiful in parts,

Its beauty belies my troubled heart.

I go through the motions of life,

But every day feels so full of strife,

Am I forever bound to this place?

Will I have the courage to show my true face?

This place where shadows and light intertwine,

Is the only place that I feel is mine.

Isolated and alone,

The island of grey is my home.
