Look, I’m not saying I’m the worst guy alive…

But sometimes…

I talk real big at the bar at night

Like I got my whole damn life in sight

Next morning I can’t find my keys

Or half the plans I swore I'd seize

Promises stacked like empty cans

Dreams that slip right through my hands

Every time I try to act real wise

I trip myself with my own advice

I laugh it off, but deep inside

I know the truth I try to hide

Sometimes I think I deserve a kick in the ass

For every stupid move in my past

Every promise I never kept

Every mess where my ego stepped

Yeah sometimes I think I deserve that smack

When my brain goes off the track

If life lined up to give me sass

I’d say “fair enough… kick my ass.”

I blame bad luck, blame the rain

Blame the traffic, blame the train

Truth is simple, plain as glass

Sometimes I’m just a dumbass

Friends shake heads when I talk big dreams

Knowing how it always seems

Start a race then stop halfway

Like quitting is my favorite play

I try to laugh, I try to pass

But the mirror knows my class

Sometimes I think I deserve a kick in the ass

For every shortcut that didn’t last

Every time I said “tomorrow’s fine”

While wasting another line
