Escape the Rush

Let’s drop this endless rush today,

Or we’ll waste ourselves away

Chasing twilight through the dark —

Not for love, not for dreams,

Not moonlit walks that gently gleam,

Not books that leave a lasting mark,

Not breathing spring’s sweet air

When cherry blossoms fill the dark.

Yes, all will pass like apple smoke,

But that’s the reason — live it fully!

And so we’ll say with every breath,

Repeating like a sinner kneeling:

My friends, let’s flee this endless rush!

It’s a faithless friend, deceiving.

The time has come to burn the bridges,

Escape the carousel’s mad crush!

I beg you — cast the rush aside!

It’s time to feel that we’re alive.

Though from ourselves we cannot hide,

We need to draw the line inside.

Or we’ll drown in trivial things —

Minutes slipping through our hands,

While we should carry on our backs

The worlds that someone needs to stand.

Yesterday is gone for good,

Let’s not lose tomorrow’s light.

My friends, let’s sit beside the fire

And repeat it like a mantra, bright:

Let’s step into the light at last,

Let’s remember every dream!

Let’s cast this endless rush away —

Let’s leave it all behind us, free!
