Feet on fire on a concrete wave

Every step closer to the gold I crave

Sky bleeds orange as the day breaks loose

I'm a runaway kite with nothing to lose

Chasing the sun

Chasing the light

Running like a shadow in the dead of night

Chasing the sun

Till the world’s undone

Every step I take

Chasing the sun

Clouds roll heavy but I don’t back down

Storms can’t drown me

I wear the crown

Every mile I run

The closer it seems

The horizon laughs but I still dream

Blisters burn but I don’t care

The sun keeps pulling

It’s always there

Chasing the sun

Chasing the light

Running like a shadow in the dead of night

Chasing the sun

Till the world’s undone

Every step I take

Chasing the sun

It’s a game of tag I’ll never win

But I’ll chase it down again and again

The glow slips through my fingers fast

But the fire it leaves will always last
