The moon’s a shadow

Cold and still

A weight on my back

A heavy hill

The road is long

The stars don’t guide

I walk alone where the dark collides

Eclipse in the sky

No light to see

A path I follow

But it won’t set me free

The road to home is lost in the night

I keep on walking

Searching for the light

Dust on my boots

And a crack in the stone

Every mile I take

I’m further from my own

The trees don’t whisper

The wind won’t sing

Even the wolves don’t howl at anything

I call your name

But it don’t call back

A voice gets swallowed by the endless black

Eclipse in the sky

No light to see

A path I follow

But it won’t set me free

The road to home is lost in the night

I keep on walking

Searching for the light

A lantern’s flame flickers

Fades

And dies

The world keeps turning

But it tells no lies

If I could hold the sun

Just for a while

Would it guide me home...
