📜 Text of the Gayatri Mantra (Sanskrit)
ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः
तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥

Om Bhūr Bhuvaḥ Svaḥ
Tat-savitur vareṇyaṃ
Bhargo devasya dhīmahi
Dhiyo yo naḥ prachodayāt

🕉 Meaning:
We meditate on the glorious radiance of the Divine —
the source of all existence.
May He illuminate and guide our intellect.

📜 The Gayatri Mantra is one of the oldest and most sacred mantras of the Vedic tradition.
It first appears in the Rig Veda (3.62.10) and is honored as
the sonic source of inner illumination —
the heartbeat of the Vedas.

🌞 This mantra is a prayer to Savitur, the Divine Sun —
the giver of life, light, energy, and knowledge.
Through it, we meditate on the divine radiance
and pray for the inspiration that guides our thoughts toward truth.

1️⃣ Gayatri as a mantra
Gayatri is a traditional name for a mantra composed
in the Gayatri poetic meter,
addressed to Savitur (Surya).
Therefore, it is also known as the Savitri Mantra.

2️⃣ Gayatri as a Divine Personality
Gayatri is worshiped as a Goddess,
the personification of this sacred mantra
and the benevolent energy that elevates and enlightens the mind.

3️⃣ Gayatri as a poetic meter
The Gayatri meter consists of 24 syllables
(3 lines of 8 syllables).
Many other mantras are composed in this meter,
addressed to different Divine forms —
such as Sarasvati Gayatri, Dhanvantari Gayatri, Radha Gayatri, and more.
