Lungs are burning, gasping for the air

The weight of iron is a crown of despair

Broken shields like tombstones on the ground

A dark tide rises, pulling me down

I bite the wood, I taste the salt and grime

A fallen warrior at the edge of time

The world is fading... but through the night...

I see the light.

The steel is screaming, armor starts to crack

The crimson river flows, there’s no turning back

Blood on my beard, the smoke begins to rise

A scarlet veil is dancing 'fore my eyes!

Until the darkness yields unto the white

I gave my oath to guard this sacred ground

The king of shadows shall not take my crown!

Though I may fall beneath the iron sky

I lean my broken body on the stone

Holding my head, shivering alone

This iron mask—a cage of cold defeat

Why is its removal such a heavy feat?

Like lightning striking through a thousand herds

With the speed of eagles, past the reach of words

A swirling fury, a festival of hate

As the western legion marches toward the gate!

The gear is clanking, the voices start to fade

I smear the blood upon my shattered blade

Have no fear! The thunder’s growling near

I grip the broken tip of my father’s spear!

I don’t know why, I don’t know how

But I am breathing, I am standing now!

I’m taking no bow!

Every bone I break, every move I make

Every desperate step for my kingdom's sake

Every enemy clawing at the door

Only brings me closer to the ancient lore!
