Lyrics
Verse
The stage is set the curtains rise
Empty promises in their disguise
They spin their webs they pull the strings
The crowd applauds but no one sings
Chorus
It's the puppet parade oh the same charade
Marching in circles a game well played
Who's pulling the wires who's calling the shots
The puppet parade forget-me-nots
Verse 2
Behind the suits behind the ties
A thousand secrets a million lies
They talk of change but stay the same
A sleight of hand a clever game
Prechorus
Turn the dial turn the page
Same old actors different stage
Chorus
It's the puppet parade oh the same charade
Marching in circles a game well played
Who's pulling the wires who's calling the shots
The puppet parade forget-me-nots
Bridge
Their shadows stretch across the floor
A mirrored dance we've seen before
They promise light but give us grey
And yet we cheer them anyway
