Another night alone --

I’m wondering who

is spending time with you.

You haven’t been coming around--

--and I don’t know why.

No reason and no warning --

so, like a widow in mourning --

I just sit home and cry.

I sit in silence all alone—

I keep on staring at my phone.

Waiting for a text or call—

but there are none at all.

I won’t reach out to you.

Not something I would do.

I think that’s up to you –

it seems you just withdrew.

I saw the warning signs

and read between the lines.

I recognized them but

I wouldn’t trust my gut.

So here I sit alone,

just staring at my phone.

I sit like this for days--

-- in a foggy haze.
