God’s Plan (Stop the Wars)

A million voices crying through the static...

Somewhere a signal still cuts through...

I'm calling out to every shore

To every heart that's cold and sore

A plea for peace, a cry for light

To end the darkness of the fight

We all were born to see the sun

Before our final race is run

To feel the pulse, to breathe the air

To find a love that's everywhere.

But when I see the smoke and steel

The wounds too deep for time to heal

I close my eyes and hear the sound

Of footsteps on holy ground.

Stop the wars, let the world just breathe

We have a life we must achieve

To live and love until the end

On that our destiny depends

We must not fall by a devil's hand

In blood and ash across the land

Let us die in our appointed hour

Not by the greed of hollow power.

The date was set the day of birth

To walk our journey on this earth

But shadows move and nations roar

Writing names upon the floor

Don't let them steal the time we're given

The sacred spark, the way we've striven

No more mothers' tears shall fall

Behind the shadows of the wall.

And though the thunder shakes the ground

There is a truth that I have found

A silent promise in the air

A hand that shields me from despair.

We are not numbers! We are not prey!

Don't let the darkness take the day!

The architects of pain and fear

Will not decide our ending here!

I lift my eyes beyond the grave

There is a power strong to save!

I'm walking in God's plan for my life!

He ordered my steps and He's making it right!

His hand is on me — I'm covered day and night!

This is God's plan! This is my life!

Stop the wars, let the world just breathe

We have a life we must achieve

To live and love until the end

Clothed in love and grace and power!
