Objects in the mirror

I caught your face in the glass

At the corner of my eye

Thought you were beside me

But you were just passing by

Your shadow wore a promise

On that washed-out rearview pane

I reached for something solid

But instead I touched the rain

Objects in the mirror

Appear closer than they are

Closer.....

than they are...

You leave a little afterglow

On the edge of my mind

Like a half-packed suitcase

By the exit door of time

I swear your voice was with me

When I crossed that county line

But the seat was still empty

When I took a look behind

Objects in the mirror

Appear closer than they are

Closer.....

than they are...

Maybe that’s the trick

Of a broken little heart

It turns the far away

Into a brand new spark...

Objects in the mirror

Appear closer than they are

Closer.....

than they are...

Objects in the mirror

Appear closer than they are

Closer.....

than they are...
