Saying Sorry

Sorry is a little word people struggle to say

Some would rather turn the other cheek and walk away

Whilst it takes a brave person to admit that they are wrong

Yet the one’s that can accept that they are sorry are so strong

With only five letters from our alphabet

But that small word SORRY can cause so much upset

Though it is so easily rolled off the tongue

And it is probably used more often when we are young

One may know that they are sorry within one’s mind

Alas some simply cannot say this little word, it seems impossible to find

”Sorry” there you are I have said it out loud

And admitting this to everyone makes me feel better and proud..

It is as good as a prize or a pleasurable gift

A gesture of forgiving or to ease one’s pain

Tho never ever say the word sorry, do not use it in vain

Sorry can solve any situation more or less perfect

So if you are wrong in somebody else’s eyes

“Say “Sorry I really do appologise”

Being repentant, remorsefull and courteously contrite

You will go up in one’s estimation if you prove to be polite

Speak the word sorry and mean what you say

Make sure they hear you loud and clear before you walk away

And when it is left unsaid it can cause hurt and dismay

Good manners and graciousness should be taught from a young age

Within a school curriculum on a social etiquette page

Then as our children grow older with little ones of their own

That formality of politeness would be all they’d ever know

“I am sorry if you are sorry, I am sorry to say

But I really needed to say sorry, coz I am sorry today”
